One Earth, one film, one chance
In recent years, the world has been hit by several ecological and natural disasters that have caused huge casualties, and who knows how many more time bombs are still ticking.
We can read about acid rains, mud slides, floods, bushfires and tragedies polluting the oceans on a daily basis.
According to climate scientists, global climate change is largely caused by humans themselves.
The accumulation of mountains of non-biodegradable waste, the toxic substances, the destruction of fauna and flora, all go hand in hand with the destruction of our environment.
The clock is ticking! You have 24 hours to take action against climate change!
We are launching a 24-hour filmmaking competition, Shoot4Earth – Shoot for the Earth, on 15 April 2023, for people from all continents to promote environmental awareness.
With the power of filmmaking, our goal is to bring awareness to the changes we all have to do on a daily basis in our consuming habits.
We hope that the competition will encourage the spread of environmental awareness and responsible behaviour.
Oscar winners and the Shoot4Earth
From the very beginning, the competition has been personally supported for many years by the Oscar-winning Czech film director JiĆĂ Menzel as head of the jury. IstvĂĄn SzabĂł, Oscar-winning Hungarian film director, and many other well-known filmmakers, including KristĂłf DeĂĄk, director of the Oscar-winning short film Sing, are also present. Our initiative was also praised by Steven Spielberg, Academy Award winning director.
The organizers of the competition would like to contribute to the primary interest of humanity: to keep the Blue Planet as mankindâs shared habitat for a long time in the future.
